Munich, December 7, 2017. The jeweler CHRIST achieved a new record level of orders on Black Friday.
Black Friday now also marks the start of Christmas trading for many manufacturers and retailers in Germany and therefore the time of year when the highest revenues are generated. The number of participating online shops increases every year and the duration of the discount offers is no longer restricted to just the Friday. The retail sector estimates additional revenues running into billions. This web extravaganza – together with Cyber Monday – is the first high point of the year in terms of revenues when consumers visit online shops in huge numbers pushing systems to and beyond their limits.
The jeweler CHRIST offers special discounts to its online customers on selected watches and items of jewelry at its annual Black Friday sale. Half of all orders – which are up again on last year – were placed via desktop PCs and half by mobile devices. Communication campaigns planned long-term and placed in a target-group-specific way informed customers in advance about the special offers thus contributing to this year’s success.
CHRIST spent weeks preparing for the stampede on the online shops on Black Friday with the support of KPS. The performance of the shop system was significantly enhanced to ensure a smooth shopping experience thus optimizing the conversion rate. Both hardware and software were upgraded and improved. “We once again succeeded in providing our customers with an exceptional shopping experience on Black Friday. We smoothly processed the high number of orders via mobile and stationary devices and ensured rapid delivery processes thanks to the support of KPS,” remarked Michael Berghoff, Head of E-Commerce at CHRIST.
