Jungheinrich AG - relies on CoreMedia CMS and KPS expertise to further develop its digital experience strategy

Get in touch

The experienced team at KPS knows CoreMedia CMS inside out and provides my team and me with excellent advice on further developing the platform and integrating third-party systems. The update to the latest version, CoreMedia Content Cloud Version 12, went off without a hitch!

Sebastian Schulmeister, Head of eCommerce Services at Jungheinrich AG

Most recently, the update to CoreMedia Content Cloud Version 12 was successfully completed, making the CMS’s latest features available.

These are:

  • A refresh of the visual design in CoreMedia Studio
  • Integration with the CoreMedia Engagement Cloud, e.g. for creating segment-specific content
  • A range of technical improvements, such as an upgrade to Java 7 and Spring Boot 3.2, and the provision of the public API for Studio client apps.

Annual report rewritten

The Jungheinrich Annual Report also went live on the new version; it was migrated from a legacy system to the flexible CoreMedia environment and, at the same time, given a modern design.

Corporate blogs for more visibility

In order to showcase Jungheinrich’s extensive specialist expertise to its business customers, the corporate blogs section was launched, providing the specialist departments with further flexible tools for content creation and presentation. The aim of the corporate blogs is to generate greater visibility for Jungheinrich’s specialist knowledge, whilst at the same time making full use of the CMS’s efficiency through the reuse of content and assets.

AI-powered SEO optimization

In addition, an AI solution based on Google’s Vertex AI platform, utilising the Gemini 2.0 LLM, has been implemented. With the help of this generative artificial intelligence, the Jungheinrich SEO team optimises blog content for a B2B specialist audience.

Intelligent Onsite Search

Jungheinrich also relies on Google Vertex AI for its on-site search: the previous search platform, based on Solr, has been replaced by the Google Cloud service, which offers semantic search, fault tolerance, synonym recognition, filters and facets, as well as self-learning result ranking for more relevant search results. Added to this is the indexing of various data pools and automatic scaling in the cloud.

Content & Commerce closely interlinked

In addition to simply displaying editorial content, Jungheinrich integrates information about its extensive product portfolio, which is linked directly to the online shop. Conversely, content from the CMS is made available and, in turn, displayed on the Spryker e-commerce platform. The restricted-access customer area, myJungheinrich, is also being co-developed by the KPS team and supplied with content from CoreMedia CMS. Similarly, the partner community and the supplier portal are being populated with editorial content. Preparatory work for the deeper integration of content and commerce is already underway.

Reliable request tracking

To improve the tracking of customer enquiries, KPS has implemented a service for Jungheinrich based on AWS Lambda functions, which helps to forward enquiries to the correct contact persons within the company and ensures that no enquiry is lost, even if technical systems are temporarily unavailable.

CoreMedia Experience Management Platform

The Hamburg-based company CoreMedia was founded in 1996, making it a long-standing player in the German digital landscape. By 2026, the partnership with KPS will have lasted for 21 years. KPS has already successfully delivered numerous major client projects in collaboration with CoreMedia.

The CoreMedia Experience Management Platform is typically used by international clients for large-scale country-specific websites where multiple language versions are required. Translation management systems such as SDL Trados or Across are typically employed.

The CMS serves as a professional tool for experienced online editorial teams as well as an easy-to-use tool for occasional editors. CoreMedia is suitable for both B2C and B2B clients.

As a software integrator, KPS relies on CoreMedia because it can be flexibly integrated with third-party systems (such as e-commerce solutions, marketing automation systems and AI solutions). In conjunction with the KPS Composable Booster , it is possible to build highly scalable, high-performance headless architectures that can flexibly and effortlessly accommodate future requirements.

Thorsten Leistenschneider, Lead Innovation Centre for Content Management Systems at KPS

“CoreMedia CMS is a powerful platform for building international B2B corporate websites. Whether on-premises or as a Platform as a Service, we have already successfully deployed CoreMedia in a wide variety of client environments.”
