A new benchmark for supply chain excellence in the fashion industry
O’JECT Transformation Programme
The O’JECT transformation programme sets new benchmarks for supply chain excellence in the fashion industry. Marc O’Polo and KPS are redefining wholesale and retail operations by bringing all sales channels together within a modern, integrated process and system landscape. The programme was developed, among other objectives, to ensure product availability through real-time data and KPI-driven replenishment, while establishing a scalable foundation to support Marc O’Polo’s ongoing growth ambitions.
Marc O’Polo and KPS received the 2026 EHI Retail Technology Award (reta) in the “Supply Chain Excellence” category for the O’JECT transformation programme, earning KPS the title “Top Supplier Retail”, more information available here.
Marc O’Polo and KPS also received the SAP Quality Award in the “Business Transformation – On-premise” category, recognising the end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA Retail, SAP Customer Activity Repository, SAP Extended Warehouse Management and further SAP solutions across four business units and 14 subsidiaries worldwide.
Marc O’Polo, with over 2,000 Point of Sales and wholesale partners across 46 countries, is facing increasing complexity in its international supply chain. A legacy system landscape, fragmented processes, and siloed IT architectures are leading to inefficiencies, inconsistent data, and limited real-time transparency across wholesale, retail, concessions, marketplaces, and e-commerce. As omnichannel retail becomes increasingly critical, the company requires a modern and scalable supply chain backbone to harmonise processes, ensure data quality, and guarantee product availability at the right time and place.
The solution
To address these challenges, Marc O’Polo is partnering with KPS to implement a holistic transformation programme based on SAP S/4HANA Retail and SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR), following a greenfield approach. At its core, the programme comprises a scalable end-to-end process landscape, an SAP-centric technical backbone with an omnichannel replenishment platform, and an adapted organisational and operating model aligned consistently with the new operational requirements. The solution integrates real-time inventory transparency, automated planning and procurement processes, and KPI-driven replenishment logic across multiple distribution and logistics centres.
The impact
The transformation is being implemented in phases aligned with seasonal business cycles to ensure stability and business continuity.
Through this ongoing initiative, the program is establishing the foundation for improved transparency, higher product availability, increased responsiveness to market developments, and long-term scalability within an omnichannel supply chain environment.
Dr. Patric Spethmann, COO and project sponsor at Marc O’Polo, summarises:
“O’JECT is a crucial transformation programme in the history of Marc O’Polo. To implement it, we brought in the expertise of KPS as a consulting firm and implementation partner. The decision was made based on KPS’s specialisation in retail processes and its comprehensive expertise in SAP S/4HANA transformation projects in the fashion segment. With this project, we are redefining retail in the fashion industry by combining a variety of sales channels with a state-of-the-art process and system landscape. Our joint commitment is paying off and has been rewarded with the reta Award. We would like to thank our fantastic team, our partner KPS and the reta Award jury.”
