Key responsibilities & dutiesKey responsibilities & duties

  • Analyse business and system requirements for client-facing eCommerce, Omnichannel Retail or Wholesale projects (B2C/B2B)
  • Elicit and elaborate requirements via client interviews, meetings, workshops, etc.
  • Evaluate & propose business process design and documentation, based on software platform capabilities
  • Create business models, workflows and other diagrams to aid the understanding of a client’s requirements
  • Document requirements, usually as Epics and User Stories in JIRA
  • Analyse, document and validate the client’s acceptance criteria for each requirement, utilising a Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) approach
  • Playback elaborated requirements and User Stories to the client for sign-off
  • Handover elaborated requirements to the development teams, further supporting them by providing clarifications during active Sprints
  • Produce concise and accurate functional documentation to support the client’s learning
  • Proactively build trusting and positive relationships with client stakeholders
  • Manage the client expectations regarding scope and requirements
  • Create and execute test scripts for functional features and system integrations 
  • Support the triage, recreation and root cause analysis for defects found during testing
  • Provide initial system training to the client team, and occasionally end users
  • Support pre-and post-implementation activities and basic application support
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis and interviews with key client stakeholders
  • Estimate business analysis activities and assisting the project manager with the scheduling and sequencing of business analysis deliverables
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client regarding the business analysis processes and their functional and non-functional needs for the software solution 
  • Collaborate with the client and internal project team to design and implement a business analysis processes that are tailored to the client’s needs, levels of maturity, culture and existing ways of working
  • Champion business analysis best practice with the client and internally 
  • Challenge requirements to ensure they are ‘needs’ not ‘wants’ 
  • Mentor and matrix manage more junior Business Analysts on client-facing projects
  • Quality assure the work of more junior Business Analysts on client-facing projects 
  • Support the pre-sales team with RFP responses, mapping requirements to out of the box functionality and functional demonstrations to prospective clients

Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience as a Business Analyst, working on eCommerce, Omnichannel Retail, Wholesale or CX projects (B2C/B2B)
  • Exposure to all aspects of eCommerce, including products, pricing, content, search, promotions, order creation, order management, customer service, etc.
  • Excellent understanding of digital/eCommerce technologies and CX/UX principles 
  • Proven experience working in an Agile methodology environment (e.g. SCRUM, DSDM, Lean/Kanban)
  • Practical knowledge and experience of the Atlassian software suite (JIRA & Confluence)
  • Confident and experienced facilitating client-facing workshop of up to 15 people, including senior managers
  • Broad experience using modelling techniques designed for business and systems’ analysis e.g. use case diagrams, process/flow diagrams, UML (class, sequence diagrams)
  • Proficient user of MS Office and Google Docs
  • Experience of the whole solution development lifecycle – discovery to service transition 
  • Experience working with the SAP C/4 Suite e.g. Commerce Cloud / Hybris, Marketing Cloud, Customer Data Cloud (highly desirable) 
  • Experience facilitating or supporting discovery workshops with new clients (highly desirable)
