The ranking was published for the third year in a row and was again run for sectors ranging from the automotive industry and the chemical sector to energy and environmental businesses. Almost 3,600 innovation experts were surveyed and asked to rate companies in their respective sectors in three specific areas of innovation: Products & Services, Process Innovation and Cultural and Social Innovation.
Companies from the "Internet, media and communication" sector are considered by experts to be particularly innovative. 51 out of 470 companies honoured can be assigned to this sector. Technology and telecommunications companies make up the second strongest group with 43 mentions and Banks, insurance companies and financial service providers make up the third largest group with 40 companies.
Detailed assessment of the most innovative products and processes
The participants were first asked to recommend companies that they consider to be particularly innovative in their industry. In addition, they could then add to their selection based on a list of award-winning companies from 40 innovation competitions of the past three years. The respondents were asked for their assessment in which of the following areas the companies they recommended are particularly forward-looking: Products and Services, Processes, and Cultural and Social Innovations. Finally, the participants were asked to indicate the extent to which nine given reasons for recommendation apply to the respective companies, such as "regularly supplies innovative products" or "has installed innovation-promoting business processes".
According to this evaluation, 470 companies from 20 sectors are among the most innovative companies in Germany and this included KPS: Particularly innovative services in the area of products, consulting and services resulted in an excellent 4-star rating for KPS!
