Key responsibilities & duties

  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of internal and external resources across the UK, near-shore partners and off-shore partners as well as developing a strong pool of freelancers
  • Ensure a regular supply for resources for deployment into existing and upcoming projects
  • Screening and vetting candidates before presenting them to practice areas
  • Lead the implementation of the resource management strategy and build/improve resource related processes
  • Responsible for gathering, analysing and standardising resource requests
  • Assess and plan for future requirements based on projected workflows and wider needs of the business.
  • Optimise the allocation of resource to maximise profitability, offer variety and improve diversity and wellbeing
  • Engage with the leadership team to understand their priorities and the impact on headcount
  • Partner with practice leads and managers to ensure consistent service delivery excellence and continual improvement
  • Produce and gain leverage from accurate and commercially focused Management Information (MI), including utilisation, bench management, forecasting and demand-supply gap management
  • Support the analysis of business forecasting e.g. chargeable hours, utilisation and headcount against budget and proactively drive resourcing decisions and behaviours accordingly
  • Oversight on intercompany resource billings to ensure overcharging does not happen
  • Deal with escalated resource issues and make decisions on conflicting demands
  • Reacting to urgent demands in a calm reassuring and professional manner
  • Manage regular resourcing meetings with representatives from different practices
  • Acquire knowledge of individuals skills, development needs, experience and personal/professional aspirations and apply this knowledge to in resourcing decisions
  • Workforce capacity planning with respect to skills, roles, locations, internal job rotations, hiring and cross-training.
  • Actively manage resources ensuring they are correctly allocated and in line with SOWs, capacity and client needs.

Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience scheduling resources in the e-commerce or software development agency/SI environment
  • Experience of working within Resourcing (workforce planning / scheduling / etc) at a Manager level
  • Commercially astute and able to enhance the profitability of the delivery portfolio
  • Experience defining resource requirements
  • Experience in building and streamlining resource related processes
  • Experience working with offshore resource partners to secure high quality candidates
  • Experience working in a fast paced, 24×7 environment in complex, cross functional teams
  • Robust and resilient
  • Able to drive change; providing challenge and problem solving through innovative thinking
  • Ability to liaise, influence, challenge effectively and build relationships at all levels and be credible with senior stakeholders
  • Proactive with a positive, flexible, assertive, can do attitude
  • Experience of conflict resolution, with the ability to manage complex conflicts between numerous parties
  • Logical thinker with strategic and pragmatic analytical skills
