By doubling the available office space to more than 8,000 m2 at its new premises in the Kontor am Kai development beside Lake Phoenix, KPS is signaling its commitment to Dortmund as a business locale, and its growth plans. The new company premises can accommodate up to 400 employees. The building was opened on Saturday by Michael Tsifidaris, KPS founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Thomas Westphal, CEO of the Dortmund Economic Development Agency and representing Mayor Ullrich Sierau, and Michael Freundlieb, Managing Director of construction and real-estate company Freundlieb. Following the official ceremony, the new building was opened with a celebration and entertainment program attended by representatives of all project partners and the media as well as KPS employees and their families.
Customer rooms for enhanced collaboration
At the heart of the new premises are new rooms for KPS's customers. Two state-of-the-art rooms, constructed to enhance collaboration with the customer, open up new perspectives and foster intensive collaboration. In this environment, digital processes, innovations, and leading-edge technologies become tangible and able to be directly experienced. Customers also gain insight into the design process and can work hand-in-glove with KPS on solutions that are tailored to their requirements. “The new rooms help us further intensify our dialog with customers and enable us to create a completely new kind of customer experience. That’s because they let our customers experience the latest technologies and products first-hand and participate in our design processes in real time," explains Michael Tsifidaris, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at KPS.
State-of-the-art workplace at Dortmund's new landmark
Well-lighted offices with a transparent design reflect KPS’ open corporate culture. Dortmund-based employees now enjoy up-to-the-minute, ergonomic workspaces designed in accordance with New Work concepts. Electrically height-adjustable desks and numerous communication zones, lounges, and quiet zones, not to mention a roof terrace, help make the work environment pleasant, motivating, and efficient. Furthermore, KPS plans to create inclusive jobs and play its part in building a society where people with differences and disabilities can live and work with dignity. KPS is implementing this project in conjunction with the sheltered workshops in Dortmund run by welfare association AWO.
