20 sectors and industries selected for evaluation of their inventiveness
For the fourth time, Capital and Statista are honouring Germany's most innovative companies. Companies were selected from 20 diverse sectors and also industrial areas, including the automotive industry, the chemical sector and the energy and environmental sector, to have their inventiveness assessed. A good 3,700 innovation professionals and experts were surveyed to evaluate companies in their sectors. The expert panel evaluated a total of 1,849 candidates in detail in order to filter out those 466 companies that are considered particularly innovative.
KPS received an award in the Professional Services & Outsourcing sector: For its part, the management consultancy supports the innovative power of companies through strategy, process and technology consulting. In implementation, KPS relies on the future-oriented principle of Composable Architecture with best-of-breed solutions. Through its innovative implementation strategies for the digital transformation, KPS takes a holistic view and consolidates the basis for retail companies to remain competitive and inventive.
According to Capital, innovative services are particularly significant in the past year, as general conditions have deteriorated somewhat, according to a survey: The impression that the difficult economic situation apparently also had an impact on innovation activity in Germany was confirmed in an expert survey conducted to accompany the ranking. 41 percent of the executives surveyed said that the framework conditions for innovation had deteriorated in 2022. The same number of study participants noted no change, only 18 percent registered an improvement.
Increased energy prices (14 percent), the uncertain economy (19 percent) and deficits in research and funding policies (27 percent) were cited as the main obstacles to innovation activities. The impact of the corona pandemic (12 percent) was not a decisive factor. In fact, an optimistic attitude towards future developments can be observed: 38 percent are convinced that the innovation activity of the German economy will increase in the next three years.
Identifying the most innovative products, services and processes
Representatives of innovation award-winning companies as well as members of the Statista Expert Circle who have been active in their industry for several years were invited for the survey. The companies were first classified as particularly innovative in their industry through recommendations.
These areas of the recommended companies were examined for future-oriented performance: Products and services, processes, and cultural and social innovations. Finally, the participants were asked to indicate to what extent nine given reasons for recommendation applied to the respective companies, such as "regularly supplies innovative products" or "has installed business processes that promote innovation".
This year, KPS again received an exceptional 4-star rating for particularly innovative solutions in the area of products, consulting and services in the Professional Services & Outsourcing sector and is one of the most innovative companies in Germany out of 466 companies from 20 sectors.
